Scots referendum question set out
BBC – Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond has set out the question he intends to ask voters in a referendum on Scottish independence.
The SNP leader said Scots would be asked: “Do you agree that Scotland should be an independent country?” in a ballot which he wants to hold in 2014.
But a consultation launched by Mr Salmond asks if voters favour a second question on more Holyrood powers.
He said the referendum could be regulated by the Electoral Commission.
In a statement to MSPs, Mr Salmond described the question as “short, straightforward and clear”, saying the people of Scotland would be asked to make the most important decision facing the country in 300 years.

Mind you, the Scottish have been at it since the 13th century; of course, Mel Gibson’s Braveheart was based on the First War of Scottish Independence. The following is a scene from Braveheart in which William Wallace, a hero from the First War of Scottish Independence (played here by Mel Gibson), making the case for freedom:
“They may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom,” William Wallace (in Braveheart)

Thanks our Gadaa.com for bringing to us such historical victory even over the most powerfull empire of the contemporary world. As the British Empire is the Architect of divide and rule, the last 300 years were a bitter struggle for the Scottish nationalists to unite for their Identity. But, based on the message passed by their heroes to their generation, the Scottish nationalists almost after four generations, finally did it in the era of TONY BLAIR, GORDON B and ROBIN COOK in closing the era of dividing the Scotish nationalists. The English thought the personal conflict between Tony and Gordon seen as a usual in dividing the nationalists. But,what english missed was both of them are a true nationalist at their heart when their Identity comes one defends the other. Infact, T.Blair in words says he supports Union if the SCOTS agree while Gordon seen as a hardline who advocates independency, at the last after 300 years the law passed at Commons as “devo max” where Tony and Gordon voted on Gordon’s vision, and Restore their Identity.
Now Scotish nationalists say they would go to the referendum for independence in 2014-the 700th anniversary of the Scottish victory over the English at the battle of Bannockburn.La historia fatta-history being done.
It MUST be as the national hope for the Oromo nation and great lesson for our policy makers based on true Oromummaa in fighting together against all odds. The Scottish almost did it in resisting the most powerfull empire while the Oromos and other oppressed ones have more powers against the too weak and least developed empire to fall itself. We too must make a history as Scottish by unifying our all soul and efforts.
