Oromia-Ethiopia: Finfinnee University Students Demand Oromo Rights in Finfinnee

Gadaa.com

Finfinnee University students have demanded Oromo rights in Finfinnee, including statues in Finfinnee for Oromo nationalist martyrs, according to a report by SBO. Finfinnee is the capital of Oromiyaa, as well as the political capital of Africa. The Oromo is the largest nation in the Horn of Africa and Ethiopia, but a nation politically and economically marginalized and repressed for the last 120 years in its own homeland, Oromia.

The statue in the following videos is a sample design for the Oromo hero Gen. Taaddasaa Birruu in a proposed Oromo Culture and History Heritage Park in Finfinnee; it was designed by a Gadaa.com contributor. Gen. Taaddasaa was an Oromo nationalist freedom fighter, and he was executed by the Derg in 1975.

I am not Oromo but I was born and grew uo in Addis (Finfinea), so I have every right like any Oromo who was b rom and grew up in Addis, and i can’t undersdtand what the so called” Natural previlages” that these students talk about. Does that mean an Oromo man from Welega has a special previlage in Addis than me who was born in Addia? As much as Oromia is his land, Addis iw were i was born and when my land is.

That is, in my opinion is a brilliant idea. He is a true Oromo hero. We need his statue being erected in Finfinnee asap. No one is more deserving than Gen. Taaddasaa Birruu. This must be the beginning. We need the statue of other Oromo golden sons and daughters being given memorial statue all over Finfinnee. Finfinnee belongs to Oromo people and no one else.

But the sample design must be the start. My suggestion his statue must be his entire body standing with glory with his medals of achievement and his sense of being proud in being an Oromo.
